The last day...

In about 3 hours I will be taking this little guy to his Kindergarten orientation. At this time tomorrow I will be waking him up to go to his first day of school....my first day of being all alone in 9 years! I was never one to rush my kids back off to school during vacations, but by the end of this one, I was done, they were done...we were all done!!! It's officially time to get back to some sort of schedule and routine. But this morning I woke up feeling incredibly guilty. Did I yell too much? Did I do enough with them? Will they remember this summer vacation with fond memories? As exciting it is to get a piece of myself back, I am afraid it's all gone just way too fast! I thought I had so much time before the day came that all three of them would be in school all day... and now it's here. The house is going to be so quiet. Even though when 3:30 comes around it will be complete chaos...it's just going to be so darn quiet all day.
Well, before I zap out the keyboard with my tears, I thought I would share some pictures of where we spent most of our summer vacation...my backyard!

Ohhhh Jennifer!! I am sitting here feeling the EXACT same way! My son started first grade this morning so now he is gone all day. I feel a little bit lost and like just not sure what to do with myself! I hope your son will have a good day today!! I will be thinking of you. :))))

It is a readjustment to life when the little one heads off to school.
You will find yourself energized from it after time.
Spending time in that beautifully decorated lawn would be a great place to start.
It is so pretty.
How about a tea with other mom's that feel like you do. You have the perfect place.

Jennifer, i hope everyone {including you} made it through the first day of school all right...it's hard when the last one goes to school and the house feels so empty...i am sure you will find lots of things to enjoy to fill the hours they are away...your yard looks heavenly...what a lovely place to spend the summer...

The back yard is lovely!

Enjoy every minute of the kids. They do tend to get away from us. I always felt the same as you when school started back, but I remember one summer, the day school let out, my right eye started twitching. It twitched the whole summer until school started back. Then it stopped just as suddenly as it had started.
