misc.

Yesterday, we all went into the city to go to the Intrepid. It's funny...I've lived in New York (actually on Long Island) my entire life, but there are still so many things in New York City that I have never been to. It was a beautiful day yesterday so I thought that maybe spring was on the way but not today....it's freezing!Whenever we are in Manhattan, there are two things I usually will not go home without....roses. Beautiful roses too! $10 for 2 dozen...can't beat it...

...and cupcakes! Magnolia Bakery cupcakes. Unfortunately they weren't as inexpensive as the roses...

...but, they are soooo good!

I also wanted to share this with you. My house isn't very big and I'm always looking for ways to save space. A few years ago I picked up this big jar from Target and filled it up with the kids snacks. When you have three hungry boys, you have a lot of snacks and keeping them in the boxes were taking up too much room. This jar holds a lot more then you would think. I also keep it low since it's glass.

Before I go, thanks so much to all of you for leaving me such kind comments about my husband. This past week has actually made a huge difference in how he has been feeling. One of the reasons we had a fun family day out yesterday. But it's always nice to hear that someone understands or has been there...so THANK YOU!
XOXO
Jennifer

I love that idea of the jar...I should get one just to put in the 13 year old's room....so he'll stop telling me he's hungry. :)

I am glad that your husband is feeling better, I hope you are too. I love the beautiful pictures you took. It is like me and Seattle and Pike Place Market. Any time I go there I have to get a huge bouquet of flowers, they are like $8. I love Red Velvet Cake, I grew up with My Mom and my Grandma always making them. I have been dealing with some tough things and my Mom told me today that she is baking me a Red Velvet Cake, it's Mine, ALLLLL Mine : )

Jennifer, so glad y'all are doing better. If you weren't so far away, I wouldn't hesitate one second to steal that scrumptious Red Velvet cupcake away from you! Mmmmm! My fave! I, too, am like you. I have lived in Dallas for over 10 years now, and still haven't done most of the cool things "to do" here! I gotta get on it! It could be my mid-bucket list. Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh my gosh I've even seen the Intrepid! It was there as we drove past in November. I also ate that same red velvet cupcake. Worth every single cent, for sure! I bet you must love being able to go to Manhattan, I wish it was closer than the other side of the world for me!
